These Terms govern your use of Kari and Kari.fm (the “Service”), including web join, Home Host, and related features. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Home Host and YouTube

Kari’s Home Host feature can help you search for and queue YouTube karaoke videos for private, personal, non-commercial gatherings (for example, singing with friends or family at home).

Home Host is not licensed or positioned for bars, restaurants, paid karaoke or KJ gigs, public performances, or other commercial venue use. A Kari Home Host subscription (including paid plans) covers Kari’s own hosting and queue functionality; it is not a license to publicly perform YouTube content.

Professional / commercial workflows (KJ Pro and similar) must use appropriately licensed, local, or otherwise authorized media — not YouTube as a commercial-event source.

YouTube Terms

Home Host web join may discover songs using Google Programmable Search and/or YouTube API Services. Playback and queueing of YouTube videos remain subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. By using those features, you also agree to be bound by YouTube’s Terms.

Accounts and guests

Some features require a Kari account. Web join guests may participate with a display name only. You are responsible for the name and song requests you submit and for complying with applicable laws and third-party terms (including YouTube’s).

Acceptable use

• Do not abuse search, join, or hosting rate limits or attempt to circumvent them.
• Do not use Home Host YouTube search/playback for public or commercial performances.
• Do not reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse Appwrite or Kari infrastructure.

The Service is provided “as is.” Kari is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. Third-party content remains subject to its owners’ rights and terms.
